Arranging your board

The board is a twelve-column grid. Cards snap to it, and they float upward into any free space, so you never have to tidy a hole out of the middle of the board by hand.

Turn on arranging

Moving and resizing

• Drag the grip to move a card. It snaps to the nearest column and row as you go.
• Drag the bottom right corner to resize. Width snaps in columns, height in rows.
• A card cannot go below two columns wide or two rows tall, and it cannot run past the right edge of the board.
• Anything you drop a card on top of is pushed down, then every card floats back up into the free space above it.

Saving and resetting

The layout is saved the moment you let go of a card. There is no save button, and nothing is lost if you leave the page mid-arrange as long as you finished the drag.

Reset layout sits next to Done arranging and only appears while you are arranging. It puts every card back to its default position and size, and saves that straight away. There is no undo, so reset is a decision, not a preview.

• In a private window the browser can refuse to store it. The board still works for that session, it opens at the default next time.
• A saved layout that cannot be read is ignored and the defaults load instead.
• A card added in a later release appears at its own default spot rather than disappearing because your saved layout never heard of it.

On a small screen

Below roughly 900 pixels wide the grid becomes a single column. Cards keep the order you arranged them in, and the handles are hidden, because twelve columns on a phone is twelve slivers. Arranging is a desktop job.
